Matei Enric

As a graduate of the class mural of the Faculty of Theology, I participated in restoration work in old churches across the country. Being very near the old masters of painting, I began to understand better and appreciate more. This influence can be seen in my work, which combines medieval vision with contemporary perspective.

Each of us are echoes of another world. I tried to take, to translate these elements related to another time. But they sit in another key, related to their language of contemporary art. Thus bring them current.

In work, I think, that all elements must work in balance and that of nature. Anything forced is not consistent with the natural growth of the work, creates a bad impression.

Thus, a work such as a tree grows. Have the idea from the start to be allowed to “ripen” to take root. And the roots are strong, the work will be more impressive.
